Medicaid clients not on STAR+PLUS — Personal Assistance Services administered directly by HHSC/DADS. Referral process through HHSC contract.
Driscoll Health Plan is a Texas Medicaid and CHIP managed care plan serving South Texas. We are an in-network provider accepting Driscoll for eligible children, adolescents, and families in the Rio Grande Valley.
For families that don't qualify for Medicaid programs. Local Brownsville market rate: ~$13–$25/hr depending on service level. We offer a free in-home assessment to determine a care plan within your budget.
We bill directly to your long-term care insurance company (Genworth, John Hancock, Mutual of Omaha, Northwestern Mutual, New York Life, and more). The family doesn't pay out of pocket.
For adults and children with related conditions (CLASS), medically dependent children (MDCP, ages 0–20), and persons with IDD (HCS). Check if you already have waiver approval.
Medicare does NOT cover long-term non-skilled personal care. Medicare covers home health care (skilled nursing, therapies) but not routine Personal Assistance. Many families confuse Medicare with Medicaid — tell us your situation and we'll guide you.
