Do you accept STAR+PLUS?

Yes. We accept STAR+PLUS HCBS (waiver) and STAR+PLUS State Plan PAS. MCOs in Cameron County include Superior HealthPlan, UnitedHealthcare Community Plan, Molina Healthcare, and Wellpoint. Call to verify the status of your plan.

What is the difference between Agency Option and CDS?

With Agency Option (our model), we are the employer. We hire, train, handle payroll, taxes, and supervise caregivers. With CDS, the family is the employer and handles all the paperwork. Most families prefer Agency Option because they do not want that administrative burden.

Can a family member be the caregiver?

Under PHC/CAS it is possible to hire a family member if they are properly certified. Under STAR+PLUS HCBS, the primary spouse generally cannot be paid. Call us to evaluate your case.

Do you do background checks?

Accepted Answer

Yes, every caregiver goes through: DPS criminal check with fingerprints (IdentoGO), Employee Misconduct Registry (EMR), Nurse Aide Registry (NAR), and the federal OIG/SAM exclusion list. No exceptions.

What is EVV?

EVV (Electronic Visit Verification) is required by federal law. Every visit is documented in real time through HHAeXchange, in compliance with the 21st Century Cures Act.

What does Medicare NOT cover?

Medicare generally does NOT cover long-term personal care (bathing, dressing, cooking). Medicare covers intermittent skilled nursing services. Continuous personal care is funded by Medicaid STAR+PLUS, private pay, or VA benefits.

Our bilingual line answers Mon-Fri 8am-5pm. For care emergencies we have a 24/7 line. Visits can be scheduled 7 days a week.

Do you serve Los Fresnos / Port Isabel / Harlingen?

Yes. We serve all of Cameron County (Region 11), Region 8, and Region 6 — including Brownsville, Los Fresnos, Port Isabel, San Benito, Harlingen, Rancho Viejo, Olmito, Combes, La Feria, Santa Rosa, and Rio Hondo.
